Why do cats wander?
Usually, a cat wandering off is due to curiosity, hunting, or territorial instincts. Felines like to explore their terrain, which could keep them away from home for a while.
Should I feed stray cats?
Not all cats who wander are strays. We advise not to feed a cat as it could be someone's pet and may not go home. However, if you do believe that you have found a stray cat, food may be your only option to get it close enough to get a paper collar on it (link below).
I think I have found a lost/stray cat. What do I do now?
Below we have printable paper collars for lost/stray cats. Try and take a picture of that cat and post it on your local 'missing pets' pages. If after 1 week you haven't heard anything from a potential owner, give us a call and we will come and collect the cat.
I have a lost/stray cat in my house. What do I do?
Keep the cat calm and warm and provide it with a litter tray, food and water. Get it to a vet ASAP so it can be scanned for a microchip. If you can't get it to a vet give us a call and we will try to help. Prior to this we advise you post an image on your local 'missing pets' pages and see if anyone will come forward.
We advise that you ask for proof of ownership before handing a cat back i.e. pictures or documents.
